I feel like it's worth posting here again the brief description of this insane route our Timmy is doing today:

Quote:
The Run is conducted along the Western States Trail starting at Squaw Valley, California, and ending in Auburn, California, a total of 100 miles. The trail ascends from the Squaw Valley floor (elevation 6,200 feet) to Emigrant Pass (elevation 8,750 feet), a climb of 2,550 vertical feet in the first 4½ miles. From the pass, following the original trails used by the gold and silver miners of the 1850’s, runners travel west, climbing another 15,540 feet and descending 22,970 feet before reaching Auburn.

Just think, we can sit here and hit refresh for an entire 24+ hours waiting for Looney.

Sounds a little bit like the PRT on a Friday night.

Have a great time, Tim.

Dude!

Tim, dude. My new hero. (And I was whining about my four flat miles with a little humidity this morning. I'm an idiot.)

I really have some stuff I need to do today. But I have a list of 9 people I want to track:

Locals who've always made helpful comments at races- Bushwhacker (#131), Jeff Riley (#345), Ronda (#F10), and Ken Ward (#416)

Tia Bodington (#114) who I talked to awhile at Miwok (I can't believe she's 50 yo!)

Of course our friend Tim Looney (#276)

And then my special friends Eric Barnes (#121), Tony C (#151), and Karen Wiggins (#425)

I'm going to be clicking all day and night!

Whoa. Seems like the leaders are on blistering pace.

Red Star Ridge - M16

A local NE Ohioan, Mark Godale, is up there with the big dogs!

And here he is at the first aid station about 3 miles into the race!

He's easy to spot in his orange shorts!

The reports from Lyon Ridge are coming in very slowly. ALmost as many runners have been reported throught the next AS as through there. They must be having a communications or website snafu.

they enter it all manually in the computer and then hope for the wireless internet to update it. I know there was a lag last year too.
