Welcome to kickrunners.com!
This site was started by a small group of friends who met at Kicksports.com many years ago (well, in 'Internet years' anyway). We started as an MSN group and we've gone through many iterations since then to become what you see today.
We have a great group of members who frequent our site. Check out the forum area to see what it's all about. From Extreme Running and Ultra Distance Running to just 'goofing off' in The Post Race Tent - the forums have something for everyone.
We also offer Free Training Programs - They're located in the Articles section (You must register to see that area). There's a forum set up to discuss your training program and the authors of the programs will be happy to help you! From 5k beginners to running your first ultra marathon - we have a program for you
A Free Running Log! Yes, we have a completely free running log. Track and graph your results - but again, you have to register to use it.
There is so much more here - so take some time and look around. But to really experience all that kickrunners.com has to offer, you have to register. And that's free too! So what are you waiting for?

The Word “Marathon” Isn’t In My Dictionary!
a running story submitted by RunDivaRun
Yeah, that's what I used to say. Of course, that was 3 marathons ago...
Many years ago I was looking for a good way to lose weight (okay, I'm STILL looking for a good way to lose weight but, that is a story for another time). It had been about two years since the birth of my first child and the baby weight wasn't coming off as quickly as I had planned. I wanted my college body back and I was determined to find a way to do it!

BUT IS IT FUN?
A running story submitted by Auntie Moe But is it fun?
Many months ago, I had a conversation with my coach. His question to me was, how often, when you run, is it fun? At the time, my answer was long and complicated but it boiled down to, not often.
I think he needs to ask me again.
Last Sunday, I ran 12 miles, which translated to 6 times around my loop in the cemetery. No matter how you think about it, 12 miles is a long way to run. It's intimidating. It takes a long time. If I were to drive 12 miles from my house north, south or west...I'd have gone through at least 3 towns. If I were to go 12 miles east...I'd be in Boston Harbor. It's far.

BEAUTIFUL
A running story submitted by Novia
I’m a girlie girl.
I love sparkly things, jewelry, accessorizing, makeup, getting my nails done, being pampered, dressing up and feeling pretty. Hands down, my favorite store is Ulta, if I had the resources, I’d own two of everything in there.
However, the times that I feel most beautiful are not captured in those freshly-bathed, neatly quaffed, appropriately accessorized moments.
On my father’s desk rests a picture of me; dirty ball cap pulled down over my forehead, a full pack strapped on my back and reinforced across my chest, t-shirt sleeves rolled up, a mountain stream flowing in the background, my face betrays my fatigue, but my eyes tell the story of a survivor.

REASSESS
A running story submitted by Novia
Six years ago, my name was selected by lottery to gain entry into a famous marathon, yet despite my drive, determination and excitement; I never made it to the start line. A month prior to the marathon, I ran a 20-mile long run and upon completion, mentally and physically collapsed. Since that day, I’ve approached my life as a runner with much trepidation, afraid to commit to the hard races, equally afraid to push myself to find out what lies beyond that cramp, beyond the sore ankles, the bum knees, the humid weather, the stitch in my side, the exercise induced asthma, beyond my mind telling me that I can’t, I can’t, I can’t.
